Church of Debre Berhan Selassie-16th century
Known as Mountain of the Enlightened Trinity, this is one of the most beautiful churches in Ethiopia. The ceiling contains iconic paintings with lines of over 80 cherubim faces, symbolizing angels watching over.
Fasil Ghebbi-16th Century
Also known as the Royal Enclosure, this site contains six castles built in the 16th century by the successive rulers of Ethiopia. This was identified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979.
Fasiladas Bath
This area is picturesque any time, but is most known for its ceremonies during Epiphany. The area surrounding the church is filled with water in the days ahead of the ceremony. Priests throw the key in the water, and people jump into the water to find it. Pilgrims come from afar to worship and participate in the unique festivities.
